Brooke Perreira also finished with 18 kills as the Canefire evened their record at 8-8, dropping the Dragons to 7-9.

The six-team BIIF Division II playoffs begin Monday with the first round, and both the Canefire and Dragons will be in action.

At 12-5, Kohala can do no worst than the No. 3 seed, and Ka‘u (8-8) also can secure a first-round home match by beating Honokaa on Friday. Hawaii Prep and Konawaena have the inside track on the top two seeds and byes into Tuesday’s semifinals. The finals are Oct. 19 at Waiakea.

In Division I, Hilo can clinch the outright regular-season championship and an automatic berth at states with a win Friday at home against Hawaii Prep. The Vikings will host Kealakehe in Tuesday’s semifinals, while Kamehameha will travel to Waiakea in the other semi.
