Aloha Performing Arts Company will resume its roster of theatre classes for all ages beginning Tuesday.

Aloha Performing Arts Company will resume its roster of theatre classes for all ages beginning Tuesday.

Classes take place at the historic Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu, and each will culminate in a free performance, open to the public on the final class day. Online registration at AlohaTheatre.com is recommended.

The programs being offered are:

“Tuesday Troupers”

Artistic director Jerry Tracy leads an eight-week class for 8- to 12-year-olds (reading skills required). It meets from 3:30-5:30 p.m. each Tuesday from Oct. 17 through Dec. 5. Tuition is $80.

The Troupers will focus on performances skills such as projection, articulation and characterization. Tracy is assisted by Kira Kane, who will teach a short choreography routine as part of the performance that will be offered free to the public on the last class day.

“The Little Theatre Club”

Wendy Buzby will instruct keiki ages 4-7 for six weeks on Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Oct. 18 through Nov. 22. Buzby will focus on helping club members increase self-confidence and develop basic social and performance skills. Tuition is $60.

“Intergenerational Acting”

Felicity Johnson will continue her popular class open to people of all ages on Thursdays from 2-4 p.m. from Oct. 19 until Dec. 7. Tuition is $80.

Aloha Teen Theatre

In addition, Engela Edwards continues as adviser of Aloha Teen Theatre, which meets from 4:30-7 p.m. Fridays in Damron Hall, APAC’s alternate space, in the building adjacent to the Aloha Theatre parking lot. Aloha Teen Theatre is free and ongoing, and accepts new members between the ages of 13 and 18 at any time.
