Police arrested a 20-year-old man for several alleged property crimes in Puna.

Kawika Buckland was charged Friday with second-degree theft, third-degree identity theft, two counts each of fraudulent use of a credit card, unauthorized possession of personal information and three counts each of unauthorized entry to a motor vehicle and fourth-degree theft.

His bail was set at $16,000 and his initial court appearance was Monday in Hilo District Court.

Officers allegedly found Buckland asleep in the driver’s seat of a stolen vehicle early Thursday morning in Hawaiian Paradise Park. They reportedly found numerous items stolen from other vehicles broken into in Orchidland Estates subdivision.
