Lehua Hawaii Productions will present its sixth annual Miss Teen Lehua Hawaii and Young Miss Lehua Hawaii Pageant on Saturday at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.

Doors open at 5:45 p.m. and the pageant starts at 6:30 p.m. Organizers say the evening will culminate weeks of dance, music and talent rehearsals and the audience can expect an entertaining production.

“The pageant will allow these young women to showcase their talents, develop public speaking skills, poise and self-confidence, while creating lasting friendships,” said Jennifer Kaaihue of Lehua Hawaii Productions, who is co-directing the pageant with Rachelle Agrigado.

Kaaihue said Lehua Hawaii contestants also take part in community service projects.

The winner of Miss Teen Lehua Hawaii will compete at the Miss Hawaii Outstanding Teen Pageant, the sister pageant of Miss Hawaii. Miss Teen Lehua Hawaii contestants are ages 14-17; Young Miss Lehua Hawaii participants are ages 10-13.

Kaaihue gives a shout-out to the members of Youth Challenge Academy, who helped set up the stage and seating.

General admission tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. For tickets or more information, contact Kaaihue or Agrigado at 937-5205.
