Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary will host its biannual fundraising “ShamPooch” from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Eagles Club in Keaau.

Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary will host its biannual fundraising “ShamPooch” from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Eagles Club in Keaau.

Dog washes and nail trims ranging from $5-$10 will be offered and there will be information and dog-related tables where participants can browse.

In addition, each participant and their canine companion(s) can get a photo shoot (donations accepted) to share with friends and family.

Rainbow Friends is a nonprofit no-kill sanctuary located in Kurtistown that cares for and attempts to find good homes for approximately 300 animals.

Contributing to the event are Shear Magic, Aloha Paws, Lava Paws, Wilson’s Trophies, Waiakea High School Key Club and Nancy and Rich Robbins from the Keaau Eagles Club.
