The Rev. Satoshi Tomioka said a police report was filed but no suspects have been identified.
Authorities continue to investigate.
The temple asks anyone who sees the pagoda to ask those who have it to “do the right thing and return it to the temple”
The pagoda was donated by a temple member between five and 10 years ago, Tomioka said.
