Pahoa football tryouts

The Pahoa 8-man football team will hold tryouts, for 9th to 12 graders, at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 17 at the school’s field.

All Pahoa students in grades 9 to 12 who want to participate in BIIF sports are required to turn in a medical physical, risk consent, and baseline test before participation.

Waiakea football

A mandatory football meeting for Waiakea parents and player will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at the school’s cafeteria. It is for all students interested in participating during the 2017-18 school year.

The agenda includes DOE participation paperwork, concussion education, meeting the coaching staff, tryout/preseason/season schedules, spirit pack ordering and sizing. A vendor will be present to size required and optional items.

Braves tryout on Oahu

Atlanta Braves area scout Dan Cox will host an open tryout for the top 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 high school players so the Braves can get an early look at them.

The tryout will be held Sunday, July 23 at Oahu’s Pearl City High School. Check-in is at 10:15 a.m. with an 11 a.m. start.
