Fire destroyed a vacant two-story home in Pahoa late Sunday night.

Nine units responded to the 10:14 p.m. alarm, with the first unit arriving on-scene at 15-2836 Pahoa Village Road eight minutes later. Responding firefighters found the 26-by-40-foot structure, attached carport, and rear deck fully engulfed in flames.

A written Fire Department statement said the structure appeared to be under construction or a remodel.

The loss was estimated at $326,400 with only $2,000 estimated property value saved.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
