Police are seeking the public’s help to identify a man who carjacked a dark gray 2013 Subaru BRZ two-door sedan, license plates SBA-186 Sunday night in Hamakua.

Police are seeking the public’s help to identify a man who carjacked a dark gray 2013 Subaru BRZ two-door sedan, license plates SBA-186 Sunday night in Hamakua.

Police say that sometime after 10 p.m., a man reported he was sitting in his car in the area of Papalele Road and Kalopa Road when he was confronted by an unknown man driving a dark-colored sedan. The suspect allegedly ordered the victim out of his vehicle at gunpoint.

The suspect then got into the victim’s car and was last seen heading Hilo-bound on Kalopa Road, while the suspect’s car was last seen being driven away by an accomplice toward Honokaa.

The suspect is described as a local male, about 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, with an average build. He was last seen wearing a dark T-shirt.

There was no description of the suspect’s accomplice.
