Waiakea is taking applications for a boys/girls cross-country coach, and applications are available at the school’s main office from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays

The deadline to apply is June 9.

The candidate selected is required to pass a Hawaii Department of Education criminal background check.

Kamehameha seeks two coaches

Kamehameha-Hawaii is recruiting for a judo assistant coach and a boys and girls swimming coach.

The deadline to apply for the judo position is May 31 application must be turned in for the swimming position by June 6.

Volleyball clinic at UHH

A volleyball clinic for boys and girls ages 12-18 will be held on Sundays in July featuring UH-Hilo volleyball coach Gene Krieger and Poli Olevao-Kahapea, head coach and founder of A Mother’s Prayer Volleyball Club and UH-Hilo alumnae.

The fee is $40 per day, with check-in at 12:30 p.m. and clinics running 1-4 p.m. at July 9, 16, 23 and 30 at UH-Hilo gym. Coaches will cover different aspects of volleyball during each session.

Slow pitch softball classic

Hawaiian Isle Athletics will host its Slow Pitch Softball Classic Tournament July 21-23 at Wong Stadium, Walter Victor Complex and Gilbert Carvalho Park. Divisions: men’s open, 40’s, 50’s and women’s. Deadline for early registration is June 30.

Hoops camp in Waimea

A basketball camp will be held June 2-4 at Waimea District Park featuring Linda Frohlich, a former WNBA player and a founder of Frohlich Basketball Academy.

Ages 5-10 will go from 9-11 a.m., with clinics for ages 11-18 running from 12:30-4 p.m.

The registration fee is $60.
