Hawaii Police Department Chief Paul K. Ferreira announced upcoming promotions of four police officers to the rank of sergeant/detective, effective May 16.

Hawaii Police Department Chief Paul K. Ferreira announced upcoming promotions of four police officers to the rank of sergeant/detective, effective May 16.

Detective Matthew Kaaihue, an 18-year veteran of the department, will be assigned to the Kona Juvenile Aid Section. He’s currently assigned to South Hilo Community Policing.

Sgt. Peter Fernandez, an 18-year veteran of the department, will be assigned to the Hamakua District. He’s currently assigned to the Hilo Vice Section.

Sgt. Jason Grouns, an 18-year veteran of the department, will be assigned to the Ka‘u District. He’s currently working in the Administrative Services Section.

And Sgt. Duffy Duldulao, a 16-year veteran of the department, also will be assigned to the Ka‘u District. He’s now assigned to the Training Section.
