Kicboxing in Waimea

Man up &Stand up will hold a kickboxing card on Saturday at Parker Gym in Waimea. Tickets may be purchased at the doors, which open at 5:30 p.m.

Boxing card in Honokaa

A Tribute to Walter “Pops” Carvalho Sr., a USA Boxing sanctioned card, will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Honokaa county complex.

Free entry with a canned good. The main event features two-belt holder Kaeo Meyers vs. Wela Mamone, a Hilo High senior.

Ohana Fun Run

The fifth annual Ohana Fun Run will be held Saturday at the Buddy Perry soccer fields at the Keaau Shipman Park.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the run starts at 8:30 a.m.

This event is open for preschoolers and parents (400 meters), as well as elementary (800), middle (1 mile) and high school students (1 mile).

Participants must wear covered shoes and running attire and are asked to wear a school shirt and bring a water bottle.

Basketball camp slated

Led by UH-Hilo’s Randan Berinobis and former Vulcan Aukai Wong, a free advanced basketball development training program will be held at Kekuaokalani Gym from 9:30 a.m-12:30 p.m. Saturday and April 22.

Previous experience is preferred for ages 10-17.
