Hilo Trollers will hold its first offshore fishing tournament of the season April 2, weather permitting.

Tournaments are generally held on the first Sunday of the month, and the season dates are: April 2, May 7, June 4, July 9, Aug. 6, Sept. 2-3.

Small-craft advisories posted anytime after 6 p.m. on the Saturday before a tournament will postpone fishing until the following Sunday.

Membership and entry forms are available at S.Tokunaga Store, J. Hara Store and Boat House Hawaii, and they are due at one of those stores by 4 p.m. the Friday before the tournament.

Hilo Trollers is an all-volunteer fishing club that sponsors monthly trolling tournaments during the summer season, and new boats and members are always welcome.
