Charles Lindbergh Brodhead Jr., 86, of Kailua-Kona died Feb. 22 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Quakertown, Pa., he was a retired thoracic surgeon, retired U.S. Navy captain and member of Kona Coast Church of the Nazarene. Irene Cunningham, 84, of Hilo died March 7 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Lahaina, Maui, she was a retired waitress at Ken’s House of Pancakes in Hilo. Private services held. Survived by sons, Charles (Anita) Cunningham of Hilo and Robert (Lei) Cunningham of Kaneohe, Oahu; daughter, Rena (Tom) Lodge of Keaau; brother, James (Phyllis) Abiva of Makakilo, Oahu; four grandchildren and six great-grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews. Mariano Viloria delos Santos, 65, of Pahala died Feb. 10 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Barbar, San Juan, Ilocos Sur, the Philippines, he was a retired tractor operator for Royal Hawaiian Orchards in Pahala and member of the Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Visitation at 5 p.m. Wednesday (March 22) at the delos Santos residence, 96-3127 Puahala St. in Pahala, where an all-night vigil will be held. Visitation again from 8-10 a.m. Thursday (March 23) at Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Celebration of Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at church cemetery. Casual attire; flowers and lei welcome.
