Allyson Faith Baclig Alvarado, 54 days old, of Pepeekeo died Feb. 26 at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children in Honolulu. She was born in Hilo. Visitation 5-6 p.m. Wednesday (March 15) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 6 p.m. All-night vigil to follow after 9 p.m. at the family residence in Pepeekeo. Visitation again from 8-10 a.m. Thursday (March 16) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Mass at 10 a.m. Burial at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. Casual attire. Charmaine Leilani Freitas, 37, of Hilo died Feb. 8 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a school bus driver for Roberts Hawaii and general member and on the board of directors of Hope DIA-mend Ministries in Naalehu. Iluminada “Luming” Mangaoang Mendoza, 88, of Keaau died Feb. 3 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Aringay, La Union, the Philippines, she was a retired Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corp. factory worker and member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Keaau. Yukiwo Nemia Tara, 75, of Kurtistown died Feb. 18 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Kosrae, Federated States of Microneisa, he was a substitute teacher, deacon of the Kosrae Hilo Congregational Church and member of the First United Protestant Church in Hilo. Visitation 5-6 p.m. Friday (March 17) at First United Protestant Church. Service at 6 p.m. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Funeral service and final committal service in Kosrae to be at a later date.
