A 21-year-old Ocean View man faces charges of operating a stolen SUV and burglarizing an Ocean View business.

Shane Faustina was arrested Tuesday and charged with driving a stolen vehicle, promoting a dangerous drug and possessing drug paraphernalia after officers determined he was operating a Ford Bronco stolen from an Ocean View home either Feb. 10 or 11. His bail was set at $30,000.

While Faustina was in custody at the Kona police cellblock pending his initial court appearance Wednesday, officers in Ka‘u determined he also was responsible for a Feb. 21 burglary at a business on the 92-8700 block of Hawaii Boulevard in Ocean View. In that incident, forced entry was made shortly before 2 a.m. and three bottles of liquor were stolen.

Faustina was charged Thursday with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree theft and fourth-degree criminal property damage. His bail on those offenses was set at $12,000.

His initial court appearance was scheduled for Friday.
