The Big Island community came together Saturday at the Kealakehe High School football field in support of Nohea Strong, a fundraiser for 26-year-old mother of three cancer patient Gabby “Nohea” Rodrigues.

With the slogan “She Fight, We Fight,” ohana and friends organized the event featuring classic cars, hot rods, food booths, bouncing castles, a silent auction, entertainment and vendor booths.

Joe Baxter, brainchild of the event and former promoter said, “I just kick-started it. Everyone else took it from there. The whole family, the whole ohana are the ones responsible.”

Baxter added local businesses generously contributed to the fundraiser to help defray costs of medical treatment.
