Jean Elizabeth Acevedo, 72, of Hilo died Dec. 27 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Sheboygan, Wis., she was an elementary, high school and university teacher of English and Spanish and University of Wisconsin alumna. Private services. Survived by daughter, Rose (Gabriel Olson) Acevedo of Volcano; brothers, John (Marjo) Gregory Little of Wisconsin, William Lawrence Little of Kihei, Maui, and Dean (Yvonne Mokihana Calizar) Peter Little of Washington; sisters, Margaret Jo (William Bronn) Little and Catherine (James) Louise Malec of Minnesota; a granddaughter, stepchildren and stepgrandchildren; nieces, nephews and hanai family. Nicole Nohealani Kahoopii, 21, of Pahoa died Dec. 15 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a student at the University of Hawaii at Hilo and Linfield College, a Kamehameha High School 2013 graduate and member of the National Honor Society.
