The fire inspector is investigating the cause of a fire early Thursday afternoon that consumed an abandoned house in Nanawale Estates.

The fire inspector is investigating the cause of a fire early Thursday afternoon that consumed an abandoned house in Nanawale Estates.

Five units responded to the 1:11 p.m. alarm at the Nanawale Boulevard property. The first unit arrived 12 minutes later to find the 1,300-square-foot structure fully engulfed in flames. The fire was reported under control at 1:35 p.m. and extinguished at 2 p.m.

Damage was estimated at $130,000 and the home was a total loss.
