HPM Building Supply’s community service team recently went into action at Destination Hilo’s Aloha Information Station, a kiosk next to the Hilo Bus Terminal.

Armed with paint, brushes, wood and carpentry equipment, the team completed its mission to renovate and repair the small building that houses an information center.

Marissa Miyahira from HPM’s Home Design Center and her team worked magic to brighten up the space, inside and out.

“Thank you, HPM, for providing this gift of supplies and people power,” said Destination Hilo’s Dinnie Kysar.

The Aloha Information Station, staffed by volunteer aloha ambassadors, welcomes visitors and residents from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Destination Hilo is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote sustainable and responsible tourism, increase visitor satisfaction and perpetuate authentic Hawaiian culture.
