A flash flood watch has been extended by the National Weather Service until 5:15 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Police reported at 11 a.m. Kamehameha Avenue in Hilo is closed in both directions from Ponahawai Street to Manono Street.

The intersection of Pauahi Street and Aupuni Street is closed in both directions.

Bayfront Highway is closed in the Hilo direction at the intersection with Waianuenue Avenue.

Police reported shortly after 2 p.m. the entrance to the Eden Roc subdivision in Puna is closed due to flooding. Motorists are advised to detour using Uahi Road in the Kapua Farm Lots subdivision.

Police also are received reports of flooding starting in Naalehu and near Waiohinu Park in Ka‘u.

There are multiple landslides and intermittent lane closures between mile markers 14 and 27 of Highway 19 along the Hamakua Coast.

Police reported at about 3 p.m. Highway 11 in Ka‘u near mile markers 58 to 59 has reopened after being closed several hours due to flooding.

Forecasters said the islands may see a brief break in the unsettled weather Monday and Monday night as the deepest moisture moves out of the area. The reprieve will likely be short-lived as more deep tropical moisture is expected to move into the area Tuesday through Thursday, keeping conditions unsettled and rain chances above normal.

A winter storm warning is in effect for the Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa summits. An additional 20-30 inches of snow is expected.
