The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for windward and some leeward areas through 11 a.m., while a flash flood watch will be in effect for Hawaii Island through Sunday afternoon.

A winter storm warning is in effect for Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea summits through Friday afternoon.

As much as 6 to 12 inches of snow is expected to fall.
