In statewide voting for seats on the board of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Hawaii resident trustee candidate Robert K. (Bob) Lindsey led 44 percent to 33 percent as of 10:20 p.m.

Also, in statewide voting for the at-large seat, Kelii Akina narrowly led Haunai Apoliona, 37 percent to 36 percent, at press time

Trustees are “responsible for setting Office of Hawaii Affairs policy and managing the agency’s trust.” They set policy for the office, which is “is responsible for improving the well-being of Native Hawaiians.”
