Walter Basque Sr., 83, of Keaau died Oct. 10 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Ookala, he was a retired ramp serviceman for the former Aloha Airlines and Hawaii Army National Guard veteran. Visitation 5-6 p.m. Monday (Nov. 7) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 6 p.m. Visitation again 9-10 a.m. Tuesday (Nov. 8) at the chapel. Service at 10 a.m. Casual attire; flowers welcome. Yachiyo “Ethel” Nagata, 93, of Hilo died Oct. 27 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Ka‘u, she was retired from the former Hilo Hospital and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin.
