Richard Noboru Fujii, 93, of Kaneohe, formerly of Hilo, died Oct. 13, at Legacy Villa Adult Residential Care Home in Kahaluu. Born in Pahoa, he was retired from the University of Hawaii Auxillary Services in Hilo. Private services held. Survived by daughters, Evelyn (Layne) Machida of Honolulu and Donna (Joel) Tanabe of Hilo; hanai daughter, Jo-Anne (Eugene) Yamada of Mililani, hanai son, Jon (Joy) Katada of Hilo; sisters Emiko (Naoto) Katada of Hilo, Suemi (Kelly) Tamaoka of Honolulu; brother Hiroshi (Gina) Fujii of Las Vegas; sisters-in-law, Asayo Naguwa and Mary Harada of Hilo, Martha (Hubei) Kaji of Torrance, Calif., June Nakagawa of Pearl City; brothers-in-law, Norio (Rosey) Harada of San Diego, and Bunichi (Hideyo) Harada of Hilo; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Yisrael David Gorali, 80, of Ocean View died Oct. 30 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Louisville, Ky., he was a retired administrator for Triad Systems, U.S. Army Vietnam-era veteran, elder of Ocean View Evangelical Community Church, former president of Hawaiian Ranchos Community Association, former member of Hawaiian Ranchos Road Maintenance Corp. and member of the Ka‘u Hospital Charitable Foundation. Service 11 a.m. Friday (Nov. 4) at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Burial to follow. Additional services at a later date. Casual attire. Robert A. Hoffman, 85, of Hawaiian Paradise Park died Oct. 25 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Terre Haute, Ind., he was a retired Boise Cascade real estate division vice president, former co-owner and general manager of Hilo Naniloa Resort, former commercial pilot and flight instructor, National Guard, U.S. Air Force and Marine Corps Reserve veteran, Past Master of Kilauea Masonic Lodge, 33rd-degree Scottish Rite Mason and Shriner. Visitation 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at Hilo Masonic Temple, 335 Wailuku Drive Service at 1 p.m. Refreshments to follow. Survived by wife, Shirley Hoffman; son Edward Hoffman; daughter, Roberta (Donovan) Cho; seven grandsons and 10 great-grandchildren.

Loretta Ann Leite Kaehuaea, 69, of Hilo, died Oct. 21 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Pepeekeo, she was a retired cafeteria meal clerk at Waiakea Intermediate School. Visitation 5-9 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 6) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation again 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday (Nov. 7) at Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church in Keaukaha. Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Mauna Kea Memorial Park in Papaikou. Casual attire. Georgia Louise Merrill, 87, of Littleton, Colo., formerly of Hilo, died Oct. 23 at Cherrelyn Healthcare Center in Littleton. Born in Medford, Ore., she was a nurse, nursing teacher, explorer, seeker, world traveler, artist and writer, breast cancer survivor and community volunteer who was active in the Big Island AIDS Project. Oliver Masaru Nagatori, 94, of Captain Cook died Oct. 21 at Hospice of Kona Nakamaru Hale.
