A private helicopter with three aboard made an emergency landing at about 9:30 a.m. today on the northern slopes of the Kohala Mountains.

A private helicopter with three aboard made an emergency landing at about 9:30 a.m. today on the northern slopes of the Kohala Mountains.

The pilot and both passengers were uninjured, according to a statement from the Hawaii County Fire Department, although the aircraft sustained damage to both its main and rear rotors.
