A 22-year-old Puna man who was charged with robbery earlier this week has been arrested again on unrelated charges of violence within 48 hours after posting bail.

Gary Simpkins of Hawaiian Beaches turned himself in to police on the robbery charge Monday and was released after posting $5,000 bail.

On Thursday night, he was arrested and charged with terroristic threatening, criminal property damage and unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle after he allegedly used a bat to smash four windows on a vehicle occupied by a 21-year-old woman and her 3-year-old son in Hawaiian Beaches.

His bail was set at $12,000 and his initial court appearance is scheduled for today.
