The struggles continue for the UH-Hilo men’s soccer team, which fell to Academy of Arts 1-0 on Saturday in San Francisco.

In the second overtime period, Jonny Navarro scored after a shot bounced off the crossbar, handing the Vulcans their second straight loss.

UHH (1-5, 0-2 PacWest) and the Urban Knights (1-5-1, 1-0) each had four shots on goal.

Joshua Jespar played the entire game and gave up the game-winning goal at the 102:21 mark. He was also the losing goalie when Dominican beat UHH 5-0 on Thursday.

The Vuls have been outscored 15-5 in six games and held scoreless three times.

Women

UHH 1, AAU 1: The Vulcans (2-1-2, 0-0-2) produced their second consecutive tie on the road but at least it was a thrilling one.

In the first half, Abcde Zoller beat three defenders and scored from two yards out for the Vuls, who took a healthy 11 shots on goal.

In the second half, Laney Haviland scored for the Urban Knights (0-6-1, 0-1-1), who fired nine shots on goal.
