Police say the body found earlier Tuesday afternoon about a mile north of Honolii Point is that of a man.

According to a Hawaii Police Department statement, the body, which has not been identified, is described as Caucasian, slim, in his mid-30s with red medium-length hair and a red goatee.

A coroner’s inquest case has been opened and an autopsy will be scheduled to determine the cause of death.
