The Kamehameha Schools East Hawaii Resource Center moved and is now open for business in its new location at the Hilo Ironworks Building in Hilo.

The new office is located at 1266 Kamehameha Ave., Suite A5-A6. Resource center manager Noelani Ho‘opai and coordinator Nikki Iwata can be reached at 982-0851. The hours of operation for the new office are 7:30 a.m.-4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday.

“Our new location provides better access for the larger community and supports KS’ strategic plan — Kuhanauna and its regional approach to improving the well-being of every Hawaiian learner,” said Kilohana Hirano, regional director for East Hawaii.

“This move better aligns our resources and brings our community-based efforts together under one roof, allowing for more efficient and effective service to our East Hawaii communities,” Hirano added.

The KS resource centers are regional centers located throughout the Hawaiian Islands that serve as a link between the island communities and Kamehameha Schools. Established in 1975, each center serves to perpetuate the legacy of Ke Ali‘i Bernice Pauahi Bishop by helping families with the application process to KS programs, such as admissions, financial aid and scholarship services, Ho‘oulu Hawaiian Data Center and the Exploration Series.

Kamehameha Schools’ campus admissions and Kipona scholarship application windows open Aug. 15. For more information, visit apps.ksbe.edu/admissions.
