Rolovich to talk to public today

Big Island Sports Hall Of Fame Presents “Lets Talk Story” with UH football coach Nick Rolovich and assistant Craig Stutzmann today at Coquis Hideaway. Lunch Starts at 11:30 a.m.

The UH Rainbow Warriors new football coaches will discuss the new season, players and this year’s strategies. The public is welcome.

The $40 fee includes lunch and a drink. Seating is limited.

All proceeds from this event will go to the Big Island Sports Hall of Fame.

Jankovic signs with Miami Heat

Former University of Hawaii forward Stefan Jankovic has signed a contract with the Miami Heat the team announced on Wednesday.

Jankovic, currently a member of the Heat’s NBA Summer League squad, is the first UH player to sign an NBA free agent contract coming right out of UH since Carl English in 2003 (Indiana Pacers). Terms of the deal were not disclosed

In three games he has appeared in ­the Las Vegas Summer League, all Heat wins, he’s totaled 10 points, five assists and eight rebounds, totaling about 44 minutes

The native of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, led the Rainbow Warriors in scoring (15.6) and rebounding (6.6) in 2015-16 en route to Big West Conference Player of the Year honors as well as being named Associated Press honorable mention All-America and to the USBWA and NABC all-district teams.
