The University Center, West Hawaii, at Hawaii Community College-Palamanui will host a degree preparation workshop from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Koali Building (A 101) at the North Kona campus.

The University Center delivers more than 50 degree and certificate programs from across the 10-campus University of Hawaii system through the use of distance-learning technology. That means West Hawaii residents can obtain degrees from UH-Manoa, UH-Hilo and UH-West Oahu while living in West Hawaii.

The degree preparation workshop will inform students what degrees are offered in West Hawaii, the necessary steps to move forward, key deadlines, methods of program delivery, what it takes to be a successful distance learning student and more.

The Hawaii Community College-Palamanui campus is located at 73-1025 Kaiminani Drive. To attend, RSVP education specialist Carrie Kuwada Phipps at carriekp@hawaii.edu or 969-8808.
