HAWAII PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW 2016

Details: This Juried show will be at the gallery in the East Hawaii Cultural Center/HMoCA from July 2-30. On Saturday, the judge of the event, Phil Jung, a photography professor at the University of Hawaii Manoa, will give a presentation and talk about his work and the Hawaii Photography Show 2016. This is a free event and open to all, with a $5 suggested donation. At 5 p.m. the main gallery will be open and at 5:30 p.m. there will be a reception with prizes. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday from Noon to 6 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

RETURN OF ‘ALALA: RESTORING THE VOICE OF HAWAII’S NATIVE FORESTS

Details: A multimedia, juried art contest in conjunction with the long-anticipated release of the ‘alala, Hawaii’s native crow, back into the wild.
