Local Allstate agency owner Kris Speegle’s commitment to helping others and serving in the community has culminated in a total of $8,000 in grant money from the Allstate Foundation as part of the Helping Hands in the Community program.

In the past two years, the Allstate Foundation has awarded $1,000 each to the Friends of Children’s Justice Center of East Hawaii, Hawaii Island United Way, Paddling for Hope, American Cancer Society, Rotary District 5000 Foundation, Deep & Beyond, Young Women’s Christian Association of Oahu and YWCA of Hawaii Island, where he has spent time volunteering.

“As a small-business owner in Hilo, I have enjoyed volunteering and giving back to my community,” Speegle said. “The Allstate Foundation celebrates the spirit of service and commitment to the community where I live and work. I’m grateful to give money back to help make our hometown a stronger, safer place.”

Allstate has a history of helping local agencies support Hawaii communities, promoting volunteerism and providing financial resources to enable local organizations to help others. The Allstate Foundation has given more than $300 million in financial contributions to communities around the country and in 2015 donated $15,000 to nonprofits in Hawaii.
