The following people were identified thanks to the efforts of the community: The man is Jim Tobin, who would later become superintendent of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The woman is Lavieve Forbes, who worked at the park’s museum. The photo was captured Feb. 4, 1967, at an unknown location.
