The College of Continuing Education and Community Service at the University of Hawaii at Hilo is offering two writing workshops with writer, speaker, activist and multicultural educator Frances Kai-Hwa Wang.
Finding Your Voice will be 5-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, July 5-26. This class is intended to help aspiring writers to find their voice and have enough trust to share their writing with the world. Short writing exercises, tips and tricks will be covered.
Dare to Dream will be from 5-7:30 p.m. Thursdays, July 7-28. Participants will learn simple but powerful methods to get ideas out of their head and onto the page in order to write their way through big changes in their lives.
Part journaling, part business plan and lots of short writing exercises, this course aspires to create the space to help participants move forward with their ideas.
Wang, who teaches at the University of Michigan, also is the author of “Where Lava Meets the Sea — Asian Pacific American Postcards from Hawaii.”
