A man and woman face multiple charges after being found in a stolen car.

At 8:03 a.m. Monday, officers responded to a report of a car suspiciously parked near a walking trail between Kealakehe Parkway and Keanalehu Drive in Kona, and determined the gray Nissan sedan was stolen from a rental car company in Kailua-Kona.

They arrested the driver, 37-year-old Jeremy Pilgrim of Kailua-Kona, and his passenger, 34-year-old Rita Reeves of Kailua-Kona, and found packets of methamphetamine on Pilgrim. The two were taken to the Kona police cellblock while detectives investigated.

Methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia associated with the use and distribution of illegal drugs also were found in the car, police said.

At 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Pilgrim was charged with driving a stolen vehicle, meth trafficking, promoting a dangerous drug and possessing drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $80,000.

Reeves was charged with driving a stolen vehicle, promoting a dangerous drug, promoting a detrimental drug and possessing drug paraphernalia. Her bail was set at $6,250.

Both were scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
