A Kona man has been charged with four offenses stemming from the break-in of a car in the parking lot of a big-box store in Kailua-Kona.

A Kona man has been charged with four offenses stemming from the break-in of a car in the parking lot of a big-box store in Kailua-Kona.

At 2:38 p.m. Tuesday, Kona Patrol officers responded to a report that a backpack had been stolen from a car parked in the Wal-Mart parking lot on Henry Street.

Police located the suspect, 35-year-old Jason K. Lindsey of Kailua-Kona, nearby and arrested him at 3:45 p.m.

On Thursday, Lindsey was charged with unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, theft, promoting a dangerous drug and possessing drug paraphernalia.

His bail was set at $6,250.

He remains at the cellblock pending his initial court appearance scheduled for today.
