Thirty archers took their best shots during the Hawaii Island Archery Club’s American Round event April 9 at Malama Park.

Thirty archers took their best shots during the Hawaii Island Archery Club’s American Round event April 9 at Malama Park.

The American Round shoot consisted of targets at 60, 50 and 40 yards, with six arrows per end, five times at each yard marker. HIAC’s Neil Wright with assistance from Dave Partlow and other members organized the day of competition and fellowship that took place under sunny skies.

Among Archery and J. Hara Store sponsored the event, lunch was provided by Rose and James Organ, and Lavanda and Charlene handled registration and score-keeping.

Champions in their respective divisions were:

• Chase Taniyama, BHFS youth.

• John Bennett, BHFS Senior.

• Dave Partlow, FS Senior.

• Kaylene Torres, Trad Female Senior.

• Robin Kow, BHFS Silver Senior.

• Bruce Tajiri, FS Silver Senior.

• Gary Torres, FS Trad Silver Senior.

• Roy Tanimoto, FS Master Senior.

• Richard Midel, Trad Master Senior.

• Cade Taniyama, BHFS youth.

• Mina Taniyama, BHFS Cub Female.
