The county Public Works Traffic Division will start striping work Monday as part of improvements to Waianuenue Avenue between Carvalho Park and the makai intersection of Rainbow Drive. The working hours are from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, weather permitting.

The one-way section of Rainbow Drive will be closed permanently to provide a safer pedestrian/wheelchair route to cross the bridge. The project also includes the widening of the existing T-intersection for bus and vehicular access to Rainbow Drive.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution as heavy vehicles and machinery will be in the work zone.
