Kawehi Linkee was charged with attempted unauthorized entry to a dwelling. He was also charged with attempted vehicle theft for an incident in Wainaku in September. Police say a farmer caught a stranger on his land driving a forklift, but the alleged would-be thief fled the area when the farmer arrived at the property.

Linkee’s bail was set at $20,000. He made his initial court appearance Monday.
