Hawaii Island Archery Club members were on target at the State Unmarked 3-D Tournament at the Kapolei Archery Range on Oahu, a tuneup for Saturday’s shoot in Hilo.

Hawaii Island Archery Club members were on target at the State Unmarked 3-D Tournament at the Kapolei Archery Range on Oahu, a tuneup for Saturday’s shoot in Hilo.

The Oahu event was hosted by the Bushwackers Archery Club and consisted of 30 targets with archers shooting one arrow at each.

The following are Big Island archers who competed and their results:

• Richard Midel, bare bow, first place

• Roy Tanimoto, master-senior freestyle, first place

• Roi Tanimoto, adult bowhunter freestyle, second place

• James Organ, adult bowhunter freestyle, third place

• David Herring, adult bowhunter freestyle, second place

• David Herring Jr., youth bowhunter freestyle, first place

• Noel Aoki, silver senior freestyle, first place

The next archery shoot is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday at Malama Park in Hilo. The format is American round 40, 50 and 60 yards.
