The Hilo Thunder soccer team captured the championship in the under-14 division at the Kirk Banks Tournament on Sunday on Oahu, defeating Pearl City 2-0 in the final.

The Hilo Thunder soccer team captured the championship in the under-14 division at the Kirk Banks Tournament on Sunday on Oahu, defeating Pearl City 2-0 in the final.

The Thunder finished 6-0, allowing just one goal in a match they eventually won in a shootout against a team from Kailua-Kona.

On the team are Austin Halsted, Chase Kotomori, Chauncen Labra, Hideki Imanishi, Jyson Breitbarth, Kadin Hatakenaka, Kapili Williams, Keanu Kalua, Kyson Yamashiro, Logan Waltjen, Logan Mizuba, Lu’ukapu Roback, Trysten Mahaulu and Tyler Jeschke. Coach Kevin Waltjen is assisted by Greg Minato.
