Clayton Morante

Sport: volleyball

Many former volleyball players from Waiakea and Pahoa had their hands in history at the Haili tournament, but Morante left an indelible mark.

The former Warrior not only helped assemble the roster, but he was named Most Outstanding Player at setter as Lil Braddahs became the first 100 percent homegrown men’s AA team from the Big Island to win the championship.

In Saturday’s final, Lil Braddahs dispatched Kailua Volleyball Club 25-21, 22-25, 15-13.

“With this bunch of guys anything is possible,” Morante said
