The ups and downs and twists and turns of romantic relationships will play out in the University of Hawaii at Hilo spring musical, “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,” which begins a two-week run in April at the Performing Arts Center.

Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. April 8, 9, 15 and 16, with matinee shows at 2 p.m. April 10 and 17.

The musical, based on the book and lyrics by Joe Pietro and music by Jimmy Roberts, features a cast of seven men and seven women who re-live that unforgettable first date and trudge through all-too-familiar scenarios such as falling in love, settling into marriage, raising kids, managing a family and, ultimately, senior citizen wooing.

Tickets are reserved seating and cost $20 general, $15 discount and $7 UH-Hilo/Hawaii Community College students with valid ID and children 17 and younger. Tickets are $5 more at the door.

Tickets are available at the Performing Arts Center box office 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, by calling 932-7490 or online at artscenter.uhh.hawaii.edu. Because of the adult nature of this show, this performance is recommended for adult audiences only.
