Celena Molina tallied a game-high 16 points, while Cherilyn and Chanelle Molina combined for 19 to lead the reigning state champion Wildcats past the Buffanblu 51-27.

Chanelle Molina added a full compliment of peripheral stats to the box score with 11 rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Konawaena did not allow Punahou to reach double-digit scoring in any quarter, and closed out the game by outscoring their ILH foe 15-5.

Kamaile Kandiah led the Buffanblu with nine points.

With the win, the Wildcats advance to take on unseeded Kaiser. The Cougars upended No. 6 Leilehua 34-27 on Wednesday.

BIIF champion Konawaena (13-0) is seeking a state title repeat and its eighth overall. It’s the first trip to the semifinals for Kaiser since 1989. The Cougars finished 10-3 in the OIA.

Maryknoll 68, Hilo 53: The Vikings never recovered from a horrid start and shot only 32.1 percent in falling in the quarterfinals at Kalani High in Honolulu.

Alexis Pana scored 12 points for BIIF runner-up Hilo (11-3), which 19-3 1:05 remaining in the first quarter. Faith Loeak (4 of 8, 11 points) and Shalyn Guthier (4 of 8, 10 points) shot well for the Vikings, who were only 1 of 12 in the secnd half on 3-pointers.

Dakota Viena led the third-seeded Spartans (14-2), the ILH champion, with 15 points. Maryknoll enjoyed a free throw advantage making 31 of 37 from the line. Hilo was 12 of 17.

The Vikings face Mililani in a consolation match at 7 p.m. Thursday.
