Nine members of Hawaii Photo Shooters share their love of nature photography through an exhibit called “Big Island: Our Land, Our Home” on display Feb. 5-25 at the Fountain Gallery of Wailoa Arts and Cultural Center, 200 Piopio St. in Hilo.

Nine members of Hawaii Photo Shooters share their love of nature photography through an exhibit called “Big Island: Our Land, Our Home” on display Feb. 5-25 at the Fountain Gallery of Wailoa Arts and Cultural Center, 200 Piopio St. in Hilo.

Exhibiting members are Steve Bohlert, Mary Bowman-DeMent, Tamara Brown, Ken Jackson, Pauline Matayoshi, Susan Miyasaka, Demetra Reynolds, Lee Schechtman and Randi Schneider. They range from a retired chemist to a spiritual teacher/practitioner to an agronomist.

Artists Jane and Linus Chao, who will have their art featured upstairs in the main gallery, helped members select their best images for this exhibit.

Club member Kate Burroughs will play traditional and contemporary Hawaiian music with her group, Chance ‘Um Trio, during the opening reception from 5-7 p.m. Friday.

Admission is free to this evening of art and entertainment.

The Wailoa Arts and Cultural Center is a Division of State Parks, Department of Land and Natural Resources.

Admission is free and it is open to the public 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The center is closed Saturday, Sunday and state holidays.
