Pierre Ernest Bouvet, 95, of Hendersonville, N.C., formerly of Waimea, died Jan. 27 at home. Born in Mumbai, India, he was a retired manager of the former Hamakua Sugar Co., chemical engineer, patented inventor and World War II veteran of the South African Air Force. Frances Victoria Epenesa, 72, of Honokaa died Jan. 23 at Hale Ho‘ola Hamakua. Born in Honokaa, she was a retired A-Plus program teacher’s aide and substitute teacher at Honokaa Elementary School and member of Honokaa Methodist Church. Thomas “Chicken” Takeshi Imanaka, 97, of Hilo died Jan. 3 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, he was owner of the former Office Things and member of Heritage Christian Fellowship Church and numerous golf clubs. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Thomas “Tom” Michael Rosenberg, 78, of Waimea and Honolulu died Jan. 29 at his Waimea home. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, he was a retired attorney. Private services.
