Mabel Haruko Narahara Ichishita, 88, of Honolulu died Dec. 13 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Honolulu, she was an employee of the former Kona Laundry and Dry Cleaning and Island Sea Shells, Alfred Shaheen and The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, and member of Kumamoto Kenjin Kai and Fukuoka Kenjin Kai. Services held. Survived by sons, Dale Ichishita of Honolulu and Paul Ichishita of Honolulu, Roy (Shirley) Ichishita of New Jersey; daughters, Naomi (Walter) Wipf of Honolulu and Laura (Daniel) Teruya of Honalo; brothers, Walter (Helen) Narahara and Harold (Fumiyo) Narahara of Honolulu, Herbert (Sonoe) Narahara of California; sister, Laura Akama of Honolulu; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Norman John Navarro, 57, of Honaunau died Dec. 11 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Weymouth, Mass., he was a painter for Paramount Painting, coffee farmer, martial arts practitioner, muscle car lover, hunter and U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
