Sueko Arakaki, 93, of Keaau died Dec. 2 at a care home in Hilo. Born in Olaa, she was a homemaker and member of Puna Hongwanji Mission. Services held. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Survived by sister, Katsuko (George) Matsuo of Wailuku, Maui; sisters-in-law, Sachiko Arakaki of Keaau, Yasuko Arakaki of Honolulu and Fumiko Arakaki of Hilo; nieces and nephews. Kim Brookes Beatty, 60, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 21. Born in Fort Wayne, Ind., he was a waiter at Huggo’s Restaurant and the former Kona Hilton. Caroline “Carol” K. Kaui Chan, 81, of Waipahu, Oahu, died Dec. 3 in Waipahu. Born in Kalapana, she was a retired postal clerk and U.S. Marine Corps veteran. Harry Hayselden, 79, of Naalehu died Dec. 16 at Life Care Center of Hilo.
